First Sick Doctor's Visit

Well, we made it almost 10 months without having to go to the doctor for actually being sick. Carly and James have both been croopy for the last few days. She started about Saturday with a runny nose and little cough. It continued to get a little worse each day. She didn't act as if she felt bad, just stuffy. Monday night you could hear it in her chest though. I laid her down for bed after she went right to sleep, but she woke up twice before 9:15 just uneasy. Finally about 10 she woke up screaming with a stomach ache, and she finally threw up. I think it was just from all the yucky stuff that had been draining in her throat and into her tummy. Soooo, Tuesday morning we made an appt. with the doctor. He said it was probably just viral and it would have to run its course! Not really what I wanted to hear. I wanted some meds to make my baby better, but he did give us antibiotic to fill next week if she wasn't any better. She is sleeping again now, and she seems to play better during the day. Maybe she is on the road to recovery. Her daddy, on the other hand, is still sick! He has actually missed 2 days of work this week, and if you know James, that means he is SICK!!!! He went to get his antibiotic filled today; so maybe he can start to feel better! Hopefully so anyway. Crossing my fingers that Mommy doesn't get it!!!

Attaching some pictures that we took last week when the warm weather was spoiling us! She looks like such a big girl! I can't believe that she is almost one! Oh and by the way.... Ma-Ma is her new favorite word!!! ;)

9 Months!!!

Okay, so I am probably the world's worst blogger! It's been a while, to say the least! Yesterday, I took my sweet baby for her 9 month check up. I absolutely cannot believe she is 9 months already.

Since I haven't blogged in a while, here is a little back story from her check up when she was 7 months old. She weighed 18 lbs. 10 oz. and was 28 inches long. She was in about the 75th percentile for weight and 90th for height. Dr. Merritt was very pleased and said she was above average baby! She was also super well behaved, and the doctor bragged on how well she did. She cried for those dreadful shots, but was okay when Mommy gave her a hug and kiss.

Yesterday at her 9 month check up (NO SHOTS, thank goodness!!!) she weighed 20 lbs. 1 oz. and was 28 1/2 inches long. Again, she was in about the 75th percentile for weight, and Dr. Merritt said she was off the charts in height! Wonder where she gets that from!!! Did I mention her great behavior last time??? Well, apparently she has been saving up. She did NOT like laying down for the doctor one bit yesterday! Instead of saying how he wished all the babies behaved like her, the doctor said he sure was glad all the babies before her were not that strong!!!! Dr. Merritt is great though, and again he said Carly was above average in most categories for her age. James and I are so thankful to have a healthy and happy baby!

Since it's been a while, I will update ya'll on everything Carly is doing now. First of all, we are in FULL TEETHING mode. She has 5 teeth fully in - 3 on the bottom and 2 on the top. I think she is going to like to do things a little backwards too! Instead of cutting the top two middle teeth first, she cut the outer ones first! Therefore I think we may have a little vampire on our hands in a couple of weeks. ;o) The upper middle ones are not far behind though. They have broken the skin, but are just not in good where you can see them when she smiles.

My sweet baby took 2 steps on New Year's Eve! SCARY! She is too young for that. Thank goodness she didn't take off running. She is already hard enough to keep up with. She has taken a couple of steps since then, but most of the time she will walk holding on to the walking toy or couch. But usually she just drops from standing and crawls. It's much faster!!!

We are eating mainly baby food and formula still; however, we have had some peas and green beans from the table. Crackers and puffs are favorites and lifesavers at Mommy and Daddy's mealtime. That's the only way we get to eat! She also LOVES LOVES LOVES Oreo cream. Smart girl!

She is probably one of the most sociable babies that I know. We will walk through the mall, and will start randomly smiling and waving to people. One day while she and I were shopping during Christmas, I had to sit on a bench in the mall and eat b/c the food court was so crowded. I finished and picked her up. She started grinning and waving to someone behind me. I turned around, and she was waving to a lady that worked in the jewelry store! My little social butterfly!

Scary to think that in less than 3 months I will be having her first birthday party. ;( Hopefully I will get another post done before then!!!!
